What it’s Like to Sail Across the Atlantic
Kim Harkola Brown is an adventurous woman and a true ocean lover who sold up and took to the waves with her husband and daughter. Her website Sailing Britican is a treasure trove of sailing news, views and stories. In this particular blog all about sailing across the Atlantic in a sailboat. Here Kim describes what it’s like to sail from Las Palmas to St Lucia with the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC). If this doesn’t give you itchy feet, we don’t know what will!
Sailing on Single Handed
When Elizabeth Tyler lost her husband in unexpected and tragic circumstances, she decided that it was imperative that she looked forward, not back, as she learned to live with her grief.
Her late husband, Max Sandström, was a retired sea captain and marine pilot, which meant Elizabeth and Max had spent many happy times sailing together. After his death, Elizabeth resolved to go on sailing alone, beginning a new chapter and starting a fresh, inspiring story all of her own.
Her amazing blog Sailing on Single Handed is a real treat to read. This little installment includes a video distilling some of Elizabeth’s summer at sea spent sailing and painting.
